Google’s October 23 update lets Gemini chats manage and query notebooks through a Connected App. For education, the change creates a useful review point between discussing information and changing the source collection used for an assignment.
AI Product and Learning Report
Google announced insight summaries for teacher-assigned Gemini Notebooks in Classroom on October 19, alongside updated administrative sharing controls. The update gives teachers a new starting point for reviewing how students used an assigned activity. Its scope is specific: the feature concerns Classroom assignments, and learners are notified that their conversations are visible to their teacher. Educational interpretation still requires checking context, speaking with students, and distinguishing a summary of interaction from evidence of understanding.
